What "Custom-Built" Means at AES

Most training equipment manufacturers in India produce from a fixed catalogue. You select a product code, they ship from stock. The assumption is that a standard automotive trainer covers enough ground for most learners — and for generic ITI or polytechnic instruction, that assumption holds.

 

OEM dealer networks and OEM-commissioned training institutes are a different buyer. They need:

 

- Components that match the actual part numbers used in the service manual

The DB-A01-R4 is a foldable, portable demo bench designed for new entrants to automotive electrical work. It houses a complete test fixture pre-wired with the core components of a vehicle's low-voltage electrical circuit — switches, fuses, lamps, LEDs, resistors, capacitors, thermistors, relay, diode, and buzzer — powered by an integrated 12VDC/2A SMPS.

 

Its compact, foldable format makes it practical for structured classroom instruction where benches are shared, or for trainer demonstrations that need to move between rooms. It is the starting point kit before learners progress to the multi-fixture LK-series.

 

Power supply: 230VAC input (suitable for India, Australia 240V, South Africa 230V, West Africa 220–240V — requires a step-up adapter for North American 120V markets)

LK-A03-R1 · Learning Kit for Electrical/Electronic Components (Basic)

The LK-A03-R1 introduces two independent test fixture boxes — allowing instructors to teach component comparison and circuit interaction rather than single-component isolation. Fixture Box A covers switching, fusing, relays, and lamp circuits; Fixture Box B covers passive components (resistors, capacitors, thermistors) and signal components (diodes, zener diodes, buzzers).

 

The 90–270VAC wide-range power supply makes this kit fully export-compatible without adaptation — it operates on any grid voltage from Japan 100VAC to Europe 230VAC.

LK-A01-R1 · Learning Kit for Electrical/Electronic Components (Basic AND Advanced)

The LK-A01-R1 is the full-range learning kit. It combines the dual-fixture Basic arrangement of the LK-A03-R1 with a third advanced fixture box that adds transistors (NPN and PNP), logic gates (NOT/AND/OR), and ICs — bringing learners from basic relay circuits through to digital logic and EEPROM concepts.

 

Dual-voltage DC output (12VDC @ 2A + 24VDC @ 1A) covers both 12V passenger car architectures and 24V commercial vehicle architectures in a single unit.

LK-P01-R1 · Learning Kit for Pneumatics Components

Basic + Advanced · Tabletop · Three fixture boxes

The LK-P01-R1 is the only pneumatics-specific training kit in our range. It covers the full pneumatics-to-electro-pneumatics learning curve across three fixture boxes:

- Box G1(A) — Pure pneumatics: Double-acting cylinder, single-acting cylinders, 5/2-way and 3/2-way directional control valves, flow control valve

- Box G1(B) — Extended pneumatics: Roller-operated and push-button-operated DCVs, air reservoir, quick release valve, pressure gauge (0–10 bar), air distribution manifold (6-port)

- Box G2 — Electro-pneumatics: Logic gate modules (AND, OR, NOT, YES, Memory), solenoid valve (12V/5-way), limit switch, connecting hoses

The baseboard is foldable (360 × 485 × 300 mm) for compact storage and transport.

Important: This kit requires an external compressed air source. A compressor is not included and must be sourced by the customer locally. The kit is powered by 12VDC external supply for the solenoid valve circuit.

Who uses it: Automotive technical institutes covering pneumatic brake and suspension systems; commercial vehicle training programmes; advanced technician upskilling on electro-pneumatic control circuits.

Category 2 — Training Boards

Training boards are vehicle-system-specific demonstration and fault-diagnosis rigs. Each board is built to a specific OEM brief and reflects the actual components, part numbers, and circuit topology of a named vehicle model or system.

Headlamp Circuit Learning Kit

This board demonstrates the complete vehicle headlamp circuit — Hi-beam and Lo-beam — with break-circuit switches inserted at multiple diagnostic points. Learners practice systematic fault isolation by triggering each break point and using a test lamp or multimeter to trace the open circuit.

 

Components match real vehicle specifications: Hi-beam and Lo-beam relays, 30A and 20A blade fuses, headlamp switch, and actual vehicle lamps.

Vehicle Sensor 17-Demo Kit Board (V03)

This board was commissioned by a leading global commercial vehicle manufacturer for their dealer service network. It mounts all 17 vehicle sensors and relay components used on their commercial vehicle platform in a single LED-backlit display board. Learners identify each component, understand its function, observe its operating characteristics, and practise removal and refitting without touching a live vehicle.

Telematics Architecture Concept Rig

This rig teaches the telematics architecture of a connected commercial vehicle — from onboard sensors and ECUs through to the cloud portals used by dealers, fleet operators, and call centres. It was developed for a leading global commercial vehicle manufacturer's telematics dealer training programme.

The QB-A01-R1 is an interactive fault-diagnosis training board built for a leading Indian tractor OEM's authorised service centres. It presents hydraulic system fault scenarios (from a specific tractor model's hydraulic circuit) and asks the learner to identify the most probable cause from a set of options.

 

Feedback is immediate and multi-modal: a Green LED and a "Congratulations" voice message confirm a correct identification; a Red LED and "Better luck next time" voice message flag an incorrect one. This gamified format measurably increases engagement and retention compared to passive fault-tracing exercises.

 

Who uses it: Tractor OEM dealer service centres; agricultural equipment training institutes; advanced hydraulics diagnostic modules.

The Customisation Process

If none of our standard range matches your training objective, we design to brief. The typical engagement is:

Step 1 — Requirement Brief

You share the vehicle model, training objective, learner profile, deployment scale, and any existing training content (syllabus, service manual extracts, component lists).

Step 2 — Component Mapping

Our engineering team maps your requirement to a fixture layout and prepares a bill of materials with component part numbers referenced against your service documentation.

Step 3 — Prototype

We fabricate a first unit and ship it for evaluation. You review against the training syllabus and provide revision notes.

Step 4 — Sign-off and Series Production

Once you sign off on the prototype, we produce the agreed quantity. Lead time from order confirmation: 4–8 weeks (depending on volume and component availability).

Step 5 — Ongoing Supply

We retain the BOM and fixture design for your product. Repeat orders, spares, and revised versions are fulfilled against the same reference.

Why Custom Over Catalogue

Generic automotive training equipment from large catalogue manufacturers serves a purpose: it gives learners a visual and tactile introduction to automotive systems. What it cannot do is prepare a technician to diagnose faults on a specific vehicle model they have never seen before.

 

The difference shows up in three ways:

 

Component recognition — A technician trained on a generic relay board may not recognise the physical form factor, part number, or connector type of the relay they encounter on a specific commercial vehicle. A board built with the actual component eliminates this gap before it becomes a warranty claim.

Can AES build a training board for a specific vehicle model we manufacture?

Yes — this is our core offering. Share the vehicle model, the system to train (sensors, telematics, hydraulics, electrical), and your learner profile. We map components to your service documentation and design a board accordingly.

What is the minimum order quantity?

There is no stated minimum. We have supplied single-unit prototypes for evaluation and series orders for network-wide rollouts. Contact us with your volume and we will advise on lead time and cost.

Do the boards come with manuals?

Yes. Each board ships with a manual covering component identification, operating instructions, and — where applicable — fault-simulation or quiz procedures. For OEM-commissioned boards, the manual is aligned with your existing training documentation.

How long does delivery take?​

From a confirmed order, 4–8 weeks depending on component procurement and volume. Prototype evaluation adds 1–2 weeks before series production. We advise booking a prototype slot 10–12 weeks before your programme start date.

 

Can we buy spares after delivery?

Yes. We retain the BOM for every board we produce. Spare sensors, relays, LEDs, and other components are available from us or sourced against the same part numbers.
